Event Overview:
Step into history and join us for two days of immersive educational and cultural programming as part of the Juneteenth @ 160 Festival at the Buffalo Soldiers National Museum.
The Living History Encampment brings the story of the United States Colored Troops (USCT) to life, commemorating the announcement of emancipation in Texas via General Order No. 3. Engage with reenactors and interpreters who will offer insight into the legacy of Black military service and its impact on the fight for liberation and citizenship.
Inside the museum, Roots & Resilience will feature educational experiences and historical storytelling by local partners sharing history related to Juneteenth, liberation, the military, and veteran resources.
Free and open to the public. All ages welcome, however 14 years old and under requires a guardian.
